What happened in Part 2?
In the second part of the Attack on Titan anime series, the Survey Corps continues their fight against the Titans. After suffering heavy losses, the Corps decides to abandon their mission and return to Wall Maria. However, they are intercepted by a group of Titans led by the Armored Titan. The Armored Titan kills many soldiers before being defeated by Levi Ackerman. The Survey Corps then regroups and decides to go back out into Titans territory.
The remainder of the season focuses on the Survey Corps’ battle against the Titans. This includes Eren Jaeger learning to control his new abilities, as well as discovering more about his father’s past. Additionally, new members join the Survey Corps, including Armin Arlert and Mikasa Ackerman. The season ends with a battle against a new type of Titan, which is eventually defeated.
Release Date
The long-awaited third season of Attack on Titan finally has a release date. The new season will premiere on July 22, 2018.

In the trailer, we see Eren waking up from a dream in which he relives his mother’s death at the hands of Titans. He then vows to kill all of the Titans. We also see glimpses of other characters, including Mikasa and Levi.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated third season of Attack on Titan was released on October 9, 2017. The minute-long teaser gives fans a glimpse of the new animation style and reveals that the season will premiere in Japan on July 22, 2018.
The trailer opens with a shot of Eren Jaeger waking up from a dream, gasping for air. We then see him and his fellow soldiers, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, looking up at something in the sky. The next scene shows them running through a forest, being chased by what appears to be giant Titans.
We also get a quick shot of Levi Ackerman fighting one of the Titans, as well as some newly designed Titans that look even more terrifying than before. The trailer ends with Eren yelling, “I’ll kill every last one of them!”
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the third season of Attack on Titan ever since the second season ended in April 2017. With such an intense trailer, it seems like the wait will definitely be worth it.

What is Attack on Titan?
Attack on Titan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The series began in 2009 and has been collected into 22 tankōbon volumes as of December 2017. It is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous walls; a defense against the Titans, gigantic humanoids that eat humans seemingly without reason. The story centers around Eren Yaeger, his foster sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their childhood friend Armin Arlelt, who join the military to fight the Titans after the death of Eren’s mother at the hands of a Titan.
The first season of the Attack on Titan anime television series adapted from the manga was broadcast on MBS between April and September 2013. It was produced by Wit Studio and directed by Tetsurō Araki, with scripts written by Yasuko Kobayashi and music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano. A second season aired between April and June 2017, also produced by Wit Studio. A third season is scheduled for July 2018.
Three live-action films were released in Japan in 2015 and are licensed for release in North America by Funimation. A two-part live-action miniseries will air on NTV in Japan starting in August 2018.
