In this blog post, we will show you how to make a custom Discord status with YouTube and Twitch. We will walk you through each step, and by the end, you will be able to create a custom Discord status that reflects your brand perfectly.
Sign Up for Discord
If you’re looking to make a more personalized status for your streaming channel on Discord, there are a few different ways you can go about it. In this tutorial, we’ll be using YouTube and Twitch as our examples, but the steps should work with most other streaming platforms as well.
First things first: create an account on either YouTube or Twitch. Once you have an account, head over to their respective settings pages and find the ” Status ” section. On YouTube, this is located under the “About” tab and looks like this:

Once you’ve found your Status page, click on the “Customize Your Status” link in the bottom left corner. This will take you to a page where you can type in whatever message you want to appear at the top of your channel’s Discord status. Next, copy the video’s URL into Discord. To do this, click on the three lines in the top left corner of the Discord window (next to “servers”), and then select “Copy link”. Then paste the URL into the “Video URL” field in your custom status window.
Finally, add a description of your custom status in the “Description” field. Here’s an example of what my status might look like:

Create Your Text and Image

On the next screen, give your server a name (e.g., “My Custom Discord Server”). Click on the “Settings” button and scroll down until you see “Server Details.” In the “Description” field, type out a brief description of your server (e.g., “My Custom Discord Server – A place for Twitch and YouTube broadcasters to chat”). Hit the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.
Now it’s time to set up our Discord status plugin! Head over to https://discordapp.com/apps/plugins and download the Status plugin from there. Once it’s downloaded, open up Status in your Discord app and click on the “Add New Status” button at the top left corner of the screen.
Sign Up for YouTube or Twitch
If you’re looking to make a custom Discord status that targets your audience, then you should sign up for YouTube or Twitch. These platforms offer an enormous amount of content that can be used as the foundation for your custom status.
YouTube offers a great selection of templates that can be edited to fit any theme or occasion. Once you find the template that you want, all you have to do is copy and paste the text into a new status message channel on Discord.
To get started with Twitch, first create an account and log in. Then, go to the Profile page and click on the Customize link in the top left corner. From here, you can select from a variety of templates and plugins that will help customize your experience on the platform.
Once you have created a custom template or plugin and uploaded it to Discord, all you need to do is add it as a status message channel. Once your channel is added, all you need to do is start including relevant clips from your videos in your statuses and watch as your followers start chiming in with their reactions!
Choose a Custom Discord Status to Make
If you want to make a custom Discord status that’s specific to your channel or gaming group, there are a few different ways to do it. You can use YouTube or Twitch to create a custom status for your channel or group, respectively. Here’s how to do it:
1. On YouTube, open the main video page for your channel and click on “Video Manager” in the upper-left corner of the screen. This will take you to the video editor where you can manage all of your videos.
2. Click on “Subscribers & Creators” in the left column and then click on “Create Custom Status” in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. On the Create Custom Status page, you will need to provide some information about your status including its name, description, and image. You can also choose which Discord server your status will be associated with by selecting from the list of servers available on Discord (you can find more servers here: https://discordapp.com/).
4. Once you have provided all of the necessary information, click on “Create Custom Status!” and your new status will be created and automatically linked to your channel on YouTube.
